II All-Ukrainian Forum of Lawyers

ALL-UKRAINIAN FORUM OF WOMEN-LAWYERS – an annual event bringing together lawyers from all over Ukraine, including attorneys, judges, notaries, law enforcement, human rights activists, and other legal professionals.

All-Ukrainian legal forum is a platform for:

  • joint discussion on the issues of women’s rights protection in Ukraine
  • search and unity of like-minded persons for conducting of strategic affairs
  • networking, mentoring, professional and personal development

The forum is intended to draw attention of legal community to the issues of women’s rights protection, in particular to their access to legal profession, challenges they face with, and to discuss professional achievements of women-lawyers.

SECOND ALL-UKRAINIAN FORUM OF WOMEN-LAWYERS was held on June 01-02, 2019 in Kyiv city.

How can you become visible in the profession to effectively represent and defend women’s rights? How are we talking? Can we position ourselves and our values?

Key topics of the Second All-Ukrainian Forum of Women-Lawyers: Public and Internal Communication, Advocacy Campaigns for the Rights of Women, Visibility of Lawyers in the Professional Environment.

Panel discussion: “Public Communication of Women- Lawyers to Effect Systemic Change”
Moderator: Larysa Denysenko – human rights defender, lawyer, writer, media-employee, cofounder and member of Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem”.
Speakers: Kateryna Levchenko – Governmental Commissioner for Gender Policy, Doctor of Law, one of the initiators of the founding and founder of La Strada Ukraine. She was the presidency of the organization.
Ganna Vronska – Supreme Court Judge, the secretary of the court chamber for the consideration of cases on corporate disputes, corporate rights and securities of the Cassation Economic Court in the Supreme Court

This panel discussion will focus on the importance of public communication between representatives of the legal community. How using public communication tools can influence the change of legal system, overcoming stereotypes, breaking down barriers and obstacles to access to justice and protecting rights. In addition, it will focus on public communication as one way to enhance the visibility of women in legal professions and the ability to demonstrate the positive experience of qualitative and systemic change.

Impactful international and national experience of female judges, attorney and lawyers in various areas of law in the advocacy for rights of women and girls will be explored as a means of disseminating good practices across the legal community and helping to improve the quality of legal services. During this panel discussion representatives of various spheres of human rights activities in Ukraine, Canada and the United States will share their own successful experiences and ideas.
