The problem of divorce is one of the complex problems of modern society. According to statistics, there are 1 million divorces a year, in the US 53% of marriages end in divorce (every 6 seconds) in the European Union. The lowest number of divorces is observed in Ireland – no more than 15% annually and Chile – 3%.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for the first half of 2020, the civil registry offices registered 11,828 divorces, 853 of which were dissolved in court. During the same period in 2019, 18,329 divorces were registered, 1,407 of which were dissolved in court, which is 35% and 40% more, respectively, than in 2020.
The phenomenon of divorce is a fairly common process in the world. However, there are still some restrictions in Ukraine and in other countries that make it impossible for spouses to divorce. This is due to the fact that the state has a negative attitude to divorce and tries to take all possible measures to preserve the family.
