Annotation

Sexual violence is a criminal act committed against women, men, and children in armed conflicts. Such actions can be a strategy for achieving military goals and be used by the enemy to weaken the resistance of citizens and keep power over them. Given the prevalence of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), it constitutes a component of other international crimes, such as war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

In this analytical note, we will consider the features, importance, and role of UN Security Council resolutions at the international and national levels in overcoming conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV).
